Head Cockingly Good, Harry Brant

I really hope my readers are as fascinated by social elitism as I am.

I just read a Cracked article warning me about two new wealthy celebrities that I will soon hate. To put it simply, Mr. Filthy Rich and Mrs. Good Looks had two sons together. Like all wealthy youth, their bank accounts have allowed Harry and Peter Brant to develop a penchant for fashion.

Heard this story before, eh? I assure you, this one is especially interesting because….

ONE OF THEM REFUSES TO HOLD UP HIS HEAD IN PHOTOS.

I am just kidding when saying that that is the reason I am doing a whole post on them. Although it is shocking the number of photos there are of him on Google with his head ever so poshly cocked to the side.

Don’t think I didn’t notice how it is always cocked to the right… I hope it is not some unfortunate spinal curvature and I am mocking him while he tries in vain to properly glare at the camera upright like his brother.

As you can see their lives are quite trying:

I advise against watching this clip of Peter Brant II celebrating his 18th at vacation spot St. Barth’s if you want to like him in any way. He’s just oozing, “I demand to be entertained, lesser people!” Very becoming!

And I’m guessing interacting with him on a social level will go something like this:

In efforts to get to the point… I am tasked with having to explain why these two are worthy of a blog post:

I promised a post strictly on men’s fashion. These young whippersnappers seem to know what they’re doing and may be the new It… Boys. Giving credit where credit is due, you will definitely learn something from them in the wardrobe department. In the same spirit, an overpaid stylist or five might have something to do with that.

Here’s the Cracked article that spawned this bizarre, kind of silly post. But I bet you enjoyed it 😉

‘MERICUH Up Your Look For This Here 4th of July

Image

Shorts: Urban Outfitters

Independence Day is upon us and these patriotic shorts happen to be in style. So on account of that convenient coincidence, these shorts are what you need to ‘Mericuh up that look of yours.

Now there are several ways you can wear this look.

Image

Kylie Jenner’s way.

But I much prefer the blousey look with shorts, as pictured below.

So there you have it. Go forth and say no more. Except, “YEE HAW, THEM SOME WICKED FURWURKS.”

!Skirt Alert!

Why, look at the fine gem of a skirt that Diane Kruger wore to the… 2012 NHL Awards Show? Sorry, actresses attending random competitive sports award shows give me pause. I just didn’t know she was a fan of hockey but alright. She wears an Alessandra Rich dress that provides a nice backdrop for that pretty fuchsia lace. While the photo on the left misleadingly makes it seem like the skirt is Alessandra Rich, the name brand of the skirt remains a mystery.

Woah.

Okay. Yes. I just posted a photo I stole from Perez Hilton.com of all places. And to do it one worse, it’s of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. For the sake of the point I’m making, disregard the empty vessels (sorry Kimye fans) wearing the clothes and check out those ensembles!

They are both rocking the classic black and white look. Kanye is casual with his all black clothes and white sneaks, and Kim… well, way to reign in the sex appeal to unleash the inner lady we all doubted you could embody. I really think this is an outfit that Diane Keaton would wear.

Maxi Skirts in Yo Face!

I’m making a blog post for maxi skirts alone because well, I think they deserve a little more attention. They are easy to wear, comfortable, affordable and everywhere you shop. How do you wear these intriguing bottoms?? Simply wear a maxi skirt in place of jeans. Sounds risky but compliments are bound to come your way.

Here are some styles:

I recently saw this Erika skirt from Monki worn by my favorite Youtube Vloger BeautyCrush. It is in a pretty color of “sargasso sunset” (looks like just plain coral to me…) that can give your outfit an easy pop of color without going overboard. And it even flashes that cool buttoned seam when you walk. Below is the Youtube video that you can see Sammi wearing it and how she styles it. And of course, the link where you can purchase it.

This Sheer Hem Maxi Skirt from Top Shop stole my heart when I first saw it. The ridiculous $76 price tag + shipping drove me to Forever 21 where I found a similar one for a relieving $24 instead. The only difference it that the material is pleated instead of flat (oh well, added flair?). The cool thing about this skirt is that it shows some leg without revealing how incredibly pale you are! And shaving, however necessary for some, is optional for those rushed mornings. Oh dear, I’ve said to much 😉

By far, Top Shop has been the best source for the most variety of maxi skirts and skirts in general. ModCloth was a disappointment, along with Anthropologie and H&M (to be fair, that’s just considering their neglected online shopping catalogs). But when I stumbled on the Urban Outfitters site, I hit the jack pot.

This is the Ecote Waterfall Skirt from Urban Outfitters. Go ahead and take a few seconds to marvel at its beauty like I just did. I am showing this one, A because it’s breathtaking, and B to show you the drop hem skirt look. That cut is in this season with dresses, shirts and vests, too.

This is the Keepsake Freedom Lovers Pleated Skirt also from Urban Outfitters. This goes for a whopping $165 bones so luckily for admirers out there, I have recently seen a similar skirt at Forever 21 for only like $20.

Here is your average tube skirt that is full length, so I thought I would add it to this post. These are skin tight and cotton, so they offer a nice and casual look. This one goes for $45 at Top Shop but go to any H&M and you will find ones for significantly less.

“She Wears Fashion”s Kavita

I really admire this particular look from the blog She Wears Fashion for summer. The shorts provides relief from the heat and the fedora provides protection from the sun. The denim boyfriend shirt tied at the bottom gives it a classic edge. Dressed up with some faux Jefferey Campbell platforms and it’s instantly chic. Or to make it a little more practical, one could switch out the platforms for some leather oxfords instead. 🙂
